Sandra

I am Sandra (Sandy) Kay Camp.  I was born in a log cabin in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on December 19, 1946.  There was no crib, but I had a comfortable dresser drawer to sleep in.  My mother had very little money and could not afford to take care of me, so she asked my great grandparents, who raised her, to take me in and raise me.  She told them that she would have to leave me in a greyhound bus terminal in Council Bluffs, Iowa if they could not pick me up.  They drove all the way from Amity, Missouri to pick me up and they raised me until I was 8 years old.  They would have kept me throughout their life if it weren’t for my mother showing up to interfere.  I was a happy child throughout the part of my life when I was living with my great grandparents; I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). They introduced me to this religion and it is the faith I have today.
